• I do not know about surround sound. My experience: I purchased this to connect to my computer, and -- for one moment -- it worked -- but then it ceased to connect from the computer to the TV -- I believe the plugs will work on the correct device, but one needs to determine whether the TV and device is compatible with this sort of plug -- something only the manufacturer of your TV and Blu-Ray can answer. That said, perhaps you could purchase it and experiment and return it if it does not work?
