I don't believe there is anyway to run the software from the broken computer. The software needs to be installed from the working computer for the OS to recognize it (unless the software you are trying to run is a simple executable).

Please try again later.If you are able to see the drive using any program on the broken computer, this cable will allow you to read that hard drive from a working computer. Otherwise, you need to remove the hard drive from the broken computer and take it to the computer store. They will help you find the data cable, with the power supply cable, to read your hard drive. I have the kit for doing it.

If it won't initiate a transfer on its own, then the power source is dead. It may just take a little more work. The good news, though, is that at least the files should be still be accessible.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If I understand what you're asking, there is no way to transfer data without installing the software on both computer. Most external drives connect with a regular USB cable and do not need a transfer cable like this.
