Once the software is installed from the cable (apparently stored in ROM in one of the connectors), a file is activated in both of the computers that presents a directory of the files within that computer as well as one for the connected computer. Files can then be moved/copied from one computer to the next. This works with both Windows PCs as well as Apple systems in any combination (PC-to/from-PC, PC-to/from-Mac, and Mac-to/from/Mac). I've used it in my office for PC-to/from-Mac transfers. As your soundbar and TV are not computers (though they might have microprocessors as part of their configurations) the cable likely will not work for your purposes. I suggest you obtain a USB-A male to USB-A male cable without the file transfer capability to meet your needs.
