A:AnswerI had no problem as both computers showed up on both screens. A little confusing as to which one was the host but pretty straight forward. Make sure you use the correct program. Easy Suite was for PC but there is another one for Mac.

To use the cable, you should use the software provided. Then both PCs need not be on the same network.
A:AnswerI don't believe there is anyway to run the software from the broken computer. The software needs to be installed from the working computer for the OS to recognize it (unless the software you are trying to run is a simple executable).
