- Answer I purchased this cable as well with my new laptop thinking it would be a simple matter of transferring the files with this cable. Well, I found that I have to purchase software to transfer files from one laptop to another. If anyone else knows anything different please provide the input.

- Answer This is a "USB FILE" transfer cable (proprietary software included) for simple PC to PC file transfers. This is NOT a "network cable". No it's not for "File and Printer Sharing".

- Answer Doesn't matter which end plugs into the computer. The software will figure it out. Plugs into USB ports.

- Answer It should. I transfered from XP to 10 and went fine. One note: Your new Windows 10 most likely has One Drive. One Drive is in the cloud so if you want your files on the computer click on My PC.

- Answer I've found that I needed to open EasySuite.exe on both computers to see the Local and Remote Hosts. If I closed the program/window on either end, it'd revert back to only showing the Local Host screen.
