“Hello, I'm looking to purchase this hub for my laptop. it has thunderbolt 3, however does not power supply. Is additional power required to operate all of the ports simultaneously? If so, how does one provide the power needed? Thanks”

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you would be well advised to buy a power cord with this if you plan to plug in anything that needs power, like hard drives. I was disappointed to find this out after purchase. The only way to provide external power is with a power brick and usb-c cable to provide the additional power, so not really a nice portable option. You are better off with the short usb-c to USB adapter that Apple makes if you are plugging in usb stuff only. If you are using on a desktop, then the extra cord and power supply neede to use all of the ports, might not be a big deal.

The Type C charging port provides up to 87W to the USB ports simultaneously, so you can use multiple high-power devices at the same time.
