• I am using the antenna because I live in a mobile home, tin can. It works great when I put it in a window. Could not get my favorite station without it. For the money, it's great.

• We have it located on our TV stand near the radio antenna sounds good with it located on our TV stand. So I think it be fine to have it located on your shelf near the radio.
