- Answer I tried playing songs from my flashdrive and it didn't work. The player doesn't recognize song files by themselves. You need something to cue the songs, like an MP3 player, iPhone, or laptop. The USB port basically works like an audio input jack...

- Answer But there is a USB connection that can be set as the sound source. So any device with a USB should work.

QuestionRemember where you were on a cd?If you are playing a cd and turn it off, when you turn it back on will it remember where you were? I would like to use it to play books on cd.

- Answer No it doesn't but the track and location are clearly shown so you can easily return but will need to jot it down or remember. I too use this for books.
