• A nintendo branded nunchuk does not need batteries as it is powered from the wiimote. if you have an off brand nunchuk that is wireless that varies on brand.

• The nunchuck doesn't have batteries. You connect it to the remote for it to work.

• I don't think so. The whole controller clicks into the dock.

• The charging base is only intended to be used when the included battery packs are installed. When using regular rechargable AA batteries the base should not be used to recharge.
