Is this a gas powered monitor arm? null

No, it's not gas powered. I just bought 2 of them for a dual monitor setup on my existing ERGOTRON dual standing desk. The gas powered were way heavier and since I have a standing desk, I didn't need the reticulating arm for height. What I like about these non-gas powered mounts is that I can turn my monitors easily to see the back with cords, cables, etc. I could never do that with the mount that was attached to the Ergotron standing desk.

No, not gas powered. It moved by hinges and metal attachments.
