Will this replace a Phillips FTR 9955 Receiver and receive regular cable I have an old Panasonic Plasma with a Phillips receiver that broke. I need to buy a new receiver, that connects to regular cable and will work on the old plasma monitor. Will this work well- or do I need to purchase something else.

Don't know, I used mine for antenna to get analog channels on digital tv

This digital to analog converter is designed to convert digital signals to analog signals for older TVs without digital tuners. This will not be able to decode any cable signal though, it is only designed for antenna channels.
