• It depends on how old the tv is. If it's not from the last 5 years you will most likely need a converter box

• If you have an analog TV, you cannot watch today's digital channels without some kind of converter box.

• If you are using an old analog tv you need a converter box with this antenna but you will not if your tv is one of the flat panels.
