What is the total recording time? You can set it for 2 Mints, 3 Mints and 5 Mints. Post that, a new file will be created. Does the operator control when recording starts and stops or does the car's engine? If it is connected to the 12V outlet , the recording starts only when the Car is turned on. You need to take it to a professional to connect directly to the always on power supply to have the recording on continuously. Is the recording in segments or continuous?
