Because this unit shuts itself off when you turn off your vehicle. My answer is No. Some units will turn on when they sense motion or impact. I would recommend a different model for that reason. This unit covers your basic driving needs. One that senses motion would be ideal and then uploads to a wi-fi connection which you will need to make it work. Good luck. I would also set up exterior surveillance cameras to catch whoever is slicing your tires.
