Both simultaneously. you'll get a 'back' file and a 'front' file on the memory card

I own two cameras with 128GB memory card for each one. 9 hours of recording, in case you ever want to search for videos days later. Each video file is a maximum of 5 minutes in length. The suction cup that comes with the camera is useless, as it doesn't work for me. I had to buy a separate dash camera mirror mount kit. I highly recommend this camera.
