  • QuestionCan I use this for my south african electronics in America?

    Asked by Mikey.

    • Answer Thank you for your inquiry! The Insignia™ Grounded Travel Adapter with 2 USB Ports can be used to connect your South African electronics to American outlets, but there are some key points to consider. First, make sure the travel adapter has the appropriate socket to accept South African plugs and fit into American outlets. • QuestionWill this work in Africa ?

    Asked by ChadE.

    • Answer The canned answer from customer service is WRONG. This is a NEMA plug input only. That means it can only be plugged into North and South America receptacles. It is for non-Americans to be able to plug in. Useful for people from other continents visiting North or South America. Useless otherwise. Why are they selling this to people in the United States who don't need it??

  • QuestionCan it accommodate a three plug battery to go into a two plug wall unit in Costa Rica from the United States?

    Asked by B.

    • Answer Costa Rica uses the same outlet prong configuration and same voltage as the United States, so devices are compatible without any adapters between Costa Rica and the United States. This device is a grounded (three plug) adapter, so if there are any two-prong-only outlets in Costa Rica, this will not fit in those.

  • QuestionDoes it convert Australia

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer This allows Australian devices to be plugged in US outlets, however it is not a voltage converter, so your device must be compatible across 100v-240v as stated on its original charging plug/cable/power pack (most mobile devices are this way, however you must check your own devices to be sure.....additionally, some electric toothbrushes and electric razors may also have this compatibility).
