• Yes. This must be grounded. That's how surge protectors work, by sending the surge to ground. When you remove the wall outlet to install this, there will be a ground wire. That ground wire needs to be connected. If you have no ground, and your equipment gets damaged by a surge, the manufacturer probably won't warranty anything that was damaged because they will see that as incorrectly installed and that voids the warranty in most cases.
