QuestionWhy do i need to keep restarting my laptop to make this work? It gets power but will not send commands to the laptop. I have tried updating drivers and uninstalling/reinstalling and still have the same issue. Using windows 10.

- Answer Yes, it should work fine. It is a standard USB keyboard. I have tested it on a 10 year old Windows 7 Dell computer and currently using it on a HP Elite 6th gen Intel i5 Win 10 computer.

- Answer They are both same thing. It is because Insignia is a best buy inhouse brand. I think Best Buy Essentials is rebranded to Insignia.

- Answer It should work fine. These should be recognized as two different devices. You should not need to buy a different mouse. I have not tried this particular combination you have described personally, but have had both a wireless mouse and a wired keyboard in the past work without issue.

- Answer Works on my old Dell with upgrade to Microsoft 10. No cover but you could use the slim fitting box it comes in to store keyboard.
