• There is an interior basket that holds the ice until it melts and the water is reused to produce more ice.

• The machine doesn't keep the ice frozen, but the storage bin is well insulated and I find that after tuning it off at the end of the night, there is still ice in the storage bin some 14 hours later.

• It holds about 4 or 5 dumps then you have to empty it.

• The ice is stored in a compartment and as it melts, it uses that water to make more ice so you never run out!
