A:Answer This unit produces a massive amount of ice. I replenish an ice container in the freezer, but I can't use it fast enough. If you don't empty the ice basket, it will melt and reproduce. Make sure you refill the water reservoir as you empty the ice basket. I can actually fill up a small ice chest pretty quickly. Not sure if that answers your question, but this is the best brand I've used and I've owned at least 4 different brands. PS. I refill it with bottled water to prevent hard water stains.
