“Can this be used to power a laptop via usb My power receptacle on my computer is broken. Is there a way to plug in my computer by using the usb port. Batteries work but they only work for a limited time and without power they do not recharge. I could also use a unit which will recharge a battery in a computer by using the USB port rather than the power receptacle. My laptop is a dell Inspiron 17”

I can not see how. USB operates on 5 volts. Most all chargers for laptops operate at higher voltages.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am pretty sure this will not work. The USB ports aren't for charging the computer. You would need to speak to Dell to determine if there is a way to charge through the USB port or repair the charging port.
