I was surprised too, but yes, 30 seconds is what we get also.

When I change from the tv to the dvd player the plugs need to be in specific locations in order to achieve maximum clarity. If this is the case for you, you should try switching them, by trial and error.

I would expect nothing less, I don't know if yours has been that way from the day you bought it but I would not be happy about that. I would contact the store reps where you bought it or contact customer service right away. Good luck.
