• A sound bar is not necessary when buying a TV. Since most TVs these days are flat the speakers are mounted on the back. A sound bar is designed to amplify the sound towards you. I would recommend getting a sound bar but it is not necessary.

• No, you don't need a sound bar. For the tv. But it boost you sound output. Let's face it. Most tvs do not have adequate speakers standard inside the tv.
