“sinc sound from my smart blueray DVD player?? I have an Insignia TV (not smart) with a smart blueray DVD player. I have the DVD player hooked up via an HDMI cable to my tv. I get sound from my TV fine when watching via my Directv cable box, however, when I use my blueray player, no sound will come through the sound bar. I have clicked on every input method on the bar but still no sound.. anybody else have this problem or have a way to get sound from my DVD player??? I have also tried hooking up the red and white cables from my output on the TV to the sound bar and still nothing.”

I am having the exact same problem. Sound bar works great with my TV. And I have Direct TV. But no sound from my Blu- ray player. Any help yet??
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.My best idea for a solution would be the following- Get a Fiber Optics cable. There should be a plug for this in your blueray player. After getting the sound bar and dvd player hooked up directly to each other you should be able to go into your audio settings on your dvd player and change it to the fiber optics output. Then change the input on your sound bar to digital audio(fiber optics) and you should be able to output sound by bypassing your TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.When using your dvd player, try turning off the tv sound by going to the menu and clicking on audio and turning off. Then the sound should come from the sound bar. I'm not sure this will solve your problem, but it's worth a try.

HDMI cables include audio signals, but composite or component video connections require separate audio connections. Suggested solution: have both the BluRay player and the DirectTV STB connect to the TV, and have the video/audio out go from the Insignia soundbar.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The red and white from the TV are not outputs. Those are inputs. The sound needs to come through a m3.5 mm aux cable or a digital optical cable. The other thing to try is to unplug the TV and Blu Ray player. Disconnect the HDMI cable from both ends. Reconnect the HDMI cable. Plug in the Blu Ray and then plug in the TV to the power.
