The doors and hinges can be removed with a Phillips screwdriver. Each shelf has holes behind it to allow wires to be passed through, and these will aid in ventilation as well. Additionally, the glass and steel construction should help with heat dissipation through the shelves. I use a receiver behind the glass doors with no problems or excessive heat buildup.
