• It is a good case closes with a stretch band and tab is held in by plastic strectchy although my first insignia case(Insignia™ - Case for Most 8" and 9" Tablets - Black Model: NS-MUN8F2BSKU: 3529014) closed magnetically and had hard notch tabs that the tab fit in securely.

• You are exactly right it has a magnetic latch that holds it closed and when in use it latches onto the back to hold it in place so its1 not flopping everywhere
