- Answer Depends what type of phone you have. Usually works with most all Android phones, and doesn't work with Apple iPhones. Gotta get Apple specific type for it to work with iPhone.

- Answer I've used this device from my MacBook Pro to a Dell 27 inch monitor with HDMI inputs and it works great. I believe it should work to a TV but I can't confirm as I haven't tried that specific application.
