- Answer According to the insignia description it is compatible with Mac OS 10.12 or newer. It worked on a PC windows 10 Pro but at 30 Hz. This is good for text and photo but may be a bit slow for games and videos

- Answer It would probably work since it works on Windows 7. I have it working perfectly on my older Windows 7 laptop that shipped before HDMI was common. I think it's just that Insignia doesn't officially "support" it. But, unsupported is not the same as it won't work.
