They're very comfortable, lightweight, and a somewhat dense cardboard- IKEA furniture is basically the same thing. I wouldn't get it wet, of course, but honestly for $10, they compare very well to other systems. I would say you want a phone above 4.5 inches, however- the smaller phones didn't fit as well. I've worked for EA Games and have been a software developer nearly a decade, and I found them surprisingly nice.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They work really well with your phone. If you can't afford the VR headset or other expensive VR systems, or if you don't know if you will like VR, it's a great alternative to start with. It folds flat so it is also great to take with you when you travel. This was actually required for a game simulation class that I am taking to become a game developer, so it stores well in my backpack. They actually work well for me.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They are cardboard, but they work. They're actually comfortable to wear. Keep in mind, these are really only for beginners just getting into VR. Lots of people are skeptical at first, but the product works.

No joke, Google Cardboard. Instructions, diagrams, etc. were freely available from Google to download and in buying a pair of 45mm focal length lenses and a magnet, you were in VR for about $5. This is simply Best Buy's (Insignia) pre made version of that. This viewer and a pair of headphones to add to the immersive feeling of the experience and I had relatives screaming from the horror and roller coaster experiences freely available from the app store. It's not an Oculus or PSVR with positional tracking **really** putting you into a VR environment, but for $10 it can't be beat!
