Make sure you are using the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connection and not the 5GHz. Start with connecting iPhone to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi before setting up the opener. Hope this helps.

I’m suspecting your iPhone is probably connected to the 5ghz radio and not the 2.4... goto your iPhone settings and tell it to forget the WiFi your currently connected to and setup it to connect to the 2.4 WiFi for now. Do your initial setup of the garage door opener. Once it’s complete you can then go ahead and go back to the 5ghz WiFi on your iPhone. The garage door will continue to use the 2.4 radio after the initial setup.
