“What are the limits for the door to register open ? We at times set the door to approx. 6 in. open. The apple app reports the door is closed. I have the door sensor located on the right side close to hinge bracket on the metal brackets.”

The sensor mounted to the door must be tilted in order to determine door open. Try mounting that sensor at top panel which should be the first panel to turn along rail and tilt sensor when opened

Please try again later.The sensor has to be installed vertically with the arrow facing up; and it has to be installed in a way where it moves from vertical to horizontal when the door is open. So if you want to sense a door that is open 6", the sensor must be installed so that it moves from vertical to horizontal in that 6" of travel.
