I have the same problem exactly. I bought two Insignia NS-SP1X7 smart plugs about a month ago and a friend bought two. We both had extreme difficulties in getting these things to set up. They finally do set up if you go through the directions 6 or 7 times! What a crock! This week I bought 2 more of them (shame on me) and they do not set up either. I tried emailing the support desk at the url given in the instructions www.insigniaproducts.com and the emails do not go through. They are being delayed or held up for some reason. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT ! ! !
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Are you using an iPhone or iPad with iOS11 or higher? I was unable to set up my plug with my newer iPhone (using iOS 11), but I tried it with my older iPhone (iOS 10) and it worked fine. Once it was set up, I could access it through the Insignia Connect app on my newer iPhone. If you have access to a device with an older iOS, that might work. Still, it's pretty lame of Best Buy/Insignia to sell a product that doesn't work with the current iOS.
