Hello "N0tStup1d" i did some research on the web, and found a solution that worked for me. I hope it also works for you. When you go to set up the plug with the app, put your phone in Airplane mode to disable all types of connections including mobile data. Then, turn on WifI only, connect to your network, and setup the app and plug. This worked for me. Good luck.

Please try again later.I too had issues but after slamming my head against a wall, ready to send it back, I calmed to the point where I re-set the plug per the instructions. Down loaded the insignia app and using our BestBuy.com account, (do not use your MYBESTBUY.COM account it will not pair) logged in to start the process. Initially it was slow as the plug had to scan for my phone and the phone scanned for the plug once the WiFi had identified the plug I connected to the insignia WiFi. It then connected and I was able to set it up fully. Setting things up wirelessly can be very confusing especially when certain steps are omitted in the written instructions themselves. Mine now are working great and now seems easy to set up. I hope this helps and yes they do actually work great. Good Luck and I am sure they will work for you.
