  • QuestionDoes this work with the Samsung Smartthings Hub?

    Asked by AkyS.

    • Answer No - Samsung SmartThings does not have Insignia as a brand it connects to. I have this hub. I've tried. HOWEVER - Google Home/Assistant does a great job of accessing WIFI controlled devices. I use Google Home to control Z Wave devices connected to my Samsung SmartThings hub AND Insignia smart plugs AND Honeywell wifi thermostats! You don't need to have the Google Home devices (I do)... Just the Google Home app for set up and operate with google assistant app to give it commands. With Google Home/Assistant - I'm not married to one line of smart devices! You just do all your programming on the native apps (Samsung SmartThings, Insignia Connect, etc.). This plug is a dumb on/off wifi plug. It works via google.
