K means you can overclock it through the BIOS, non-K means Intel has locked the CPU to the speed listed. Make sure you get K version as overclocking will not void warranty. Also get a good cooling system to perfect it from overheating. Never fun the chip without cooling
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The 8600k is a step down from the 8700k but can run about 100$ to 75$ cheaper that the 8700k.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The I-7 has Hyper threading and the I-5 does not. I went from a I-7 7700K to the I-5 8600k and it is performing as good or better than the 7700k. And it cost $100 less so it was a win win.

So it's really a matter of what you are using the CPU for...if you were building something on a budget, an i5 is definitely better and most of the features you want on a Gen-8 processor are there (esp. the 6-core ones). IF YOU ABSOLUTELY must have the highest performance, and are willing to pay the difference to get it, get the i7.

You can still stream and game at the same time with no issues, I have a smooth experience and can still multitask as well with my MSI tomahawk 7370 motherboard, I’ve just been told that you can multitask even more so, and use high rendering applications with a i7k unlocked (if you’re into design work, video editing or hardcore streaming) Word on the Internet is that the i5k unlocked is just as good, if not even better than the i7k unlocked for the price, when it comes to a gaming rig, but that choice is entirely up to you.
