  • QuestionWhat temps do you get while gaming?

    • Answer This will depend on your cooling and case setup. With a front/side mounted AIO (280/360) expect to see temps in the mid 50s while gaming. Games that utilize more cores may result in higher temps. Chip quality will also vary. I would not recommend anything less than a DeepCool AK620, Dark Rock Pro 4 or NH D15 air cooler (capable of handling up to 250w) if you are going with air cooling.

  • QuestionI'm planning on picking up one of these to go with my kracken 360 elite. Is that a suitable cooler for this top tier cpu? I assume my z790 edge ti max wifi can support the 13900k or will I have to do stuff with bios? (currently running a 12700k)

Even though the Kraken Elite 360 is compatible with the processor socket, reaching the manufacturer to ensure that the Kraken Elite 360 meets or exceeds the TDP recommendation for the Intel® Core™ i9-13900K processor is recommended. The TDP for Intel Processors of the 12th generation (and higher generation) is called Processor Base Power and can be located under CPU Specifications. Intel® 600 Series and Intel® 700 Series chipset-based motherboards require a BIOS update to boot the Intel® Core™ desktop processors (13th and 14th gen). Intel® recommends updating the BIOS on systems for compatibility before updating your Intel® Core™ desktop processors.     • Answer No fan Is included It's flagship processor. So they expect you to buy an aftermarket cooler. It's a very great processor though!

    • Answer Yes I would recommend updating the bios to ensure that your cpu is running the correct voltage that was the main issue with the 13 and 14th gen cpu that intel released better to be safe than sorry.

  • QuestionI have one of the 13th gen cpu's that I bought last year. I have read that Intel is issuing returns. I am having the problems with my chip that have been reported. What can i do to get this problem resolved?

Intel is investigating options to identify affected processors on end-user systems. Customers experiencing instability symptoms on 13th and 14th Generation desktop processors should contact their system manufacturer, or in the case of an Intel Boxed Processor, contact Intel Customer Support. Ensure that the latest BIOS from your system or board manufacturer is being used. Contact your system or motherboard manufacturer for BIOS updates.     • Answer Yes it is, But make sure power supply can handle it, plus you need a sufficient cooling device for it.

    • Answer Yes it's a fine pairing both are considered high performance parts you shouldn't run into any bottlenecks as well when playing most AAA games however this generation of intel processors did have voltage problems with the motherboard but it's an easy fix you'll need update the Bios for your motherboard and you can find that on your motherboard manufacture site ensure you have a usb thumb drive save that to the stick and either press F2 or F10 in most cases that will get you into the Bios and you will see the option to update the bios in the menu just update from the thumb drive and you will be fine I'm running a i9 13900kf and have had no issues after the update everyone is afraid to troubleshoot their own tech and sadly the brutal reality is it does come with the territory when building a pc and joining the community.

    • Answer All DDR5 are not designed to run 4 sticks XMP, But you can definately install ram at normal speed. For examply i have corsair domintor rgb 4 sticks that are 6200 mt/s when i install 4 sticks without xmp they rum 4800 mt/s which is still super fast compared to ddr4, but if i want the full speed 6200 MT/s i will only be able to install 2 sticks and there's a certain way to install them, it should be marked on the motherboard, You'd ask why bother? I'll install 2 sticks and run my pc. Well of course you can but to take full advantage of dual channel you will need to install one stick of RAM in slot two (A2) and the second stick in slot four (B2)

    • Answer Intel already offers a three-year limited warranty with their CPUs. I'm not sure what you mean by if Best Buy "allows [you] to purchase it", whether that means the CPU without a Total Tech warranty or the warranty separate from the CPU. I don't think they will sell a warranty after the CPU has already been purchased however, and Best Buy provides links to read about their warranties.

    • Answer In my opinion, the question is irrelevant. The processor fits into a specific socket, LGA1700, only. You need a compatible motherboard and other compatible components to make this processor work. Looking at Wikipedia for LGA1700, Alder Lake and Raptor Lake processors' dimensions are 37.5 mm × 45 mm x 1,687.5mm².

    • Answer Without knowing what the blue screen error code is, no one can help you. Look up a guide on how to get a blue screen ( BSOD) error code and follow those instructions.
