The QB bundle with Payroll entitles the purchaser to one year of payroll services for one employee. To activate the payroll you need to provide Intuit a CC number. That CC will be charged for payroll services over and able the one employee and after a year - an automatic renewal of the payroll service. If the CC is no longer valid at time of renewal of services they will cancel the service. If you but the bundle the next year and install it, you can call QB support and run the new version of QB with a new one year subscription as part of the bundle. They will delete the old service and activate the new - but your payroll data will be retained. You will keep your QB account numbers without change - but will aquire a new payroll subscription number to enter into QB. For small a small business with one employee - upgrading to the bundle each year is more cost effective since the payroll portion of the service is cheaper and you get the new program. It does require in my experience about a couple of hours with QB support each year to switch the service activations - and explain why you are doing it. Hopefully this answer will not discontinue their practice of offering the bundle.
