as far as feature difference, The 'help' service on the deluxe version is a lot more in-depth.

THe help you used to get in the basic version a few years back is now only available in the deluxe version, so if your taxes are a bit more complicated with regards to deductions, I would recommend the deluxe version, if you are under 25 and don't have much to deduct then the basic version is ok, especially if your state comptroller has their own tax filing website.
