• Yes, as long as your cord reaches to the phone, you can charge it. I charge mine especially on long drives when I'm using my GPS.

• Yes. My phone charged fine at night when there was no direct sunlight; but overheated quickly during the day because of the heat (100+ F)

• Assuming you are charging with a lightning cable, then yes. The magnet has no effect on charging capabilities.
