• Hi there! The suction cup has a sticky gel on it to help provide a strong hold. The performance of the suction cup base will likely deteriorate if it's moved repeatedly. We would recommend that you go with an air vent mount option if you're planning on using it primarily in rental cars.

• Yes absolutely, if you leave it stuck for example, on the windshield, it will leave a mark that it was stuck there, but something you can take out easily, I used to have on my windshield, now I have on top to the left of my dashboard, it works perfectly. So much I bought a second one.
