It will pick up sand and silt debris, tracked in mud or dirt, pet hair and most anything else it rolls over..And this model does a MUCH better job than ANY of the brush design models, after our 3rd brush unit, we upgraded to the rubber rollers...

• A:Answer Yes it docks itself when it is done. There have been a couple times when it has gotten stuck or was too far away when it decided it needed to return home and didn't make it, but I would say so far 95% of the time it docks itself.
