QuestionMost robotic vacuum (Roomba, Eufy, Neato, etc.) have issues when the brush have too much dirt (hair, etc.) on it. It will no longer clean efficiently and you will have to clean the brush after every run. Does the i7+ have the same problem?

- Answer It does a fantastic job on tile and carpets! Automatically empties dust, dirt and dog hair in the bag when it's full. If it isn't finished doing the vacuuming, and loses the charge, it will automatically go to the charging station and charge itself and go back and finish the job. Alerts you on the phone when the job is complete! Amazing little robot!

- Answer Yes you can use it without a phone but you will be unable to map what room you want to clean. Easy manually. Press the clean button and it starts. Press the home button and it docks itself. You can also press the clean button to stop it while it is vacuuming.

- Answer This i7 was able to handle area rugs where the 940 was not. The 940 was able to go on oriental rugs that have a fairly thin border. Our area rugs are thinker and i7 was fine.

- Answer The Roomba i7+ doesn’t have mopping capabilities. If you’re referring to the line of robotic mops offered by iRobot then yes, all Braava mops are tested and approved for use on all sealed hard-floor surfaces.

QuestionMost of my home has stained concrete floors, the bedrooms are carpet, and we have a few largish area rugs. How does the i7 do with the changing surface? I'm curious if it would have issues "climbing" up on the area rugs. Thanks!

- Answer It gets up and down area rugs without a problem in my home. The cleaning power is a bit lacking on rugs though. I wouldn’t expect too much if you’re looking to vacuum a whole room filled with carpet. We have hardwood throughout the house with some area rugs and it’s works awesome on the hardwood but I’m assuming it’s not really deep cleaning the rugs.

QuestionDoes it require Wi-Fi. Is Wi-Fi only required if you do it remotely.

- Answer No, it does not require Wifi to work. But to take advantage of all the features you do need a wifi connection so that the app can synch with the Roomba. On the app you can choose your preferences (if it should vaccum the same room twice, if you need the carpet boost when a carpet is detected, if you want it to clean edges) and also set up a cleaning schedule. The app will also let you know when the bin is full and if the Roomba has gotten stuck somewhere and needs rescuing.

- Answer I know the virtual walls work. I had the older 980 and those virtual walls work with the new i7 and i7+. I'm not sure about the lighthouses but you shouldn't need them because the i7 maps your house. Then, you can create your own virtual rooms. You can set the schedule to clean only certain rooms on certain days and times. I'm currently configuring the new schedule and it seems to be working great! No more setting up virtual walls to stop Roomba from going into rooms you don't want. I love the future!
