I don't see why it couldn't, but it would really struggle for that. I probably wouldn't do it myself. The mop does not have the same wheels as the vacuum does, and it would be challenging for it.

The answer is "yes". The brava mop is capable of bypassing carpet to access other cleaning sections of your home. As long as the carpet itself does not go over the clearance of 3mm.
