  • QuestionWill this connect with my SmartBoard in my classroom?

    Asked by LCCSeml95.

    • Answer Yes, the ScreenCast 4K Wireless Display Adapter can work with your SmartBoard, as long as the following requirements are met. SmartBoard must have: An HDMI input port (to connect the JVAW76). A USB port (optional) if you're powering the adapter via USB instead of a power adapter. A display resolution of up to 4K, or at least Full HD (1080p), for optimal performance. Your source device (laptop, tablet, phone) must support: Miracast (for Windows and some Android devices). AirPlay (for iPhones, iPads, and Macs). Google Cast (for Chrome OS or Chrome browser on Windows/macOS). The JVAW76 is not a touchscreen input receiver, it mirrors or extends the screen to the SmartBoard, but does not support touchback.

  • QuestionSo I don't need wifi to cast and will it connect strait to phone or tablet ?

    Asked by Brnie.

    • Answer Yes, this is capable of broadcasting it's own wifi signal and can allow devices to connect that way instead of over a full home network.

  • QuestionCan this be used without WiFi and no service plan on a tablet

    Asked by Timothy.

    • Answer If your tablet supports Miracast (common in many Android devices), you can directly connect to the adapter for screen mirroring. For iOS devices, the adapter may require AirPlay, which can work in "peer-to-peer" mode (without WiFi) in some setups. However, this depends on your iPad model and its AirPlay capabilities.

  • QuestionDo u need wifi to use it?

    Asked by Dicky.

    • Answer Whether or not you need Wi-Fi to cast from the JVAW76 ScreenCast depends on the device you wish to cast from. -Most Windows devices do not require Wi-Fi as long as they support Miracast. -Most Android devices do not require Wi-Fi as long as they support Miracast. -Apple devices do not require Wi-Fi, but the ScreenCast must be set to Peer to Peer mode. The firmware on the ScreenCast device may need to be updated in order for Peer to Peer mode to be available. -Chromebooks and Google Pixel phones require Wi-Fi.

  • QuestionMy computer does not support miracast so as of now so it cannot project wirelessly. However, I have a smart tv that can project wirelessly. Can I plug this device into my computer instead of my tv to broadcast my computer screen on my smart tv?

    Asked by ConstructionW.

    • Answer Unfortunately that will not work because the ScreenCast does not function as a transmitter only as a receiver. If your computer has an HDMI port you may want to consider using our JVAW75 ScreenCast 4K Wireless Display HDMI Extender model instead which comes with a transmitter and and receiver, you can purchase it from the j5create website. Thank you.

  • QuestionCan I hook up a game console wirelessly to a TV?

    Asked by Tbrezzy.

    • Answer This specific model (JVAW76) is not compatible with game consoles. For game consoles I would recommend purchasing our JVAW75 ScreenCast 4K Wireless Display HDMI™ Extender instead. Please note that because gaming is a very latency sensitive application I do recommend wireless casting from a console to a TV if the intent is to play the game while viewing the TV screen wirelessly as the game may not feel as responsive. Additionally the JVAW75 has yet to be tested with a game console, so there is no guarantee that it will work. Thank you.

  • QuestionI want to send video from my computer, cell or tablet to two TV's at the same time. Will this work?

    Asked by Tamis.

    • Answer if you use two separate dongles probably, but whether they stay perfectly in sync, i doubt it. For example if the videos are of dominoes or a falling ball the timing of all the videos will probably not be precise ....that gets into a volume issue.

  • QuestionIs there a way for me to change the display name of the screen cast ? Because I installed this in a classroom but I want to change the display name to the classroom number.

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer You can can change the device name (i.e. the name that shows up when you connect your device to it), but not the name of the wireless network it broadcasts (at least I haven't found a way to change the the wireless network name). To change the device name, you first need to connect to the devices WiFi network (the name and password of which is displayed on the TV when the ScreenCast is on and you're on it's input on the TV). Once connected to the WiFi network, go to 192.168.203.1 in your browser (that's the IP address of the ScreenCast itself), and you'll be able to login to the device and change a bunch of its settings, including the device name.
