Hello fcf, The j5create USB 2.0-to-10/100 Ethernet Adapter (JUE125) is designed to connect to a USB port on a desktop or laptop computer. The RJ45 Ethernet port on the JUE125 will allow you to connect an Ethernet cable from the adapter and into a network modem, router, or switch, for a wired network connection. The JUE125 will not allow you to connect a printer to a router, as the JUE125 requires for drivers to be installed onto the computer to operate. -j5create
