Yes. It's water resistant, but not water proof. In other words, if you get caught in the rain, you'll be okay, but don't go swimming with it.

according to the user manual you can sweat and shower, however you can not go swimming/underwater

Ideally this is water resistant and should not be any with sweat I wear this for the entire day and with exercise and sweat really doesn't concern me. I saw a YouTube video which suggested with water splashes in shower it used to switch modes but that should not be concern now as this has a software update that automatically switches between sleep mode. JAWBONE does not suggest wearing this in shower and I did not try but I think a quick shower should not be an issue

Yes, you can swear in the activity tracker but it cannot be worn in the shower.
