You must read the instructions carefully. I had the same problem then realized that I missed a step/ overlooked a step. there are also videos to show you how to connect and other tings you can do with the Jawbone UP and above

If you are having syncing issues on a second device, I would definitely take it into Best Buy and have Geeksquad assist. Take advantage of this service while it is included in your purchase, my not exactly sure when it expires, but definitely worth checking out.
