• You can only change the weights electronically. They do seem to be very durable, but I haven't had them very long. I would definitely try not to drop them like regular dumbbells, though. The plates are individually connected and I'm not sure how strong the connection is.

• The proper functionality and usage of the product requires that you not manually change the weights; doing otherwise can void the warranty. If any damage occurs that isn't normal wear and tear and isn't due to the user negligence, then that is covered by a limited warranty.
