If you tv is bluetooth enabled I don't see what would prevent it from pairing. As far as defeating the external sound from you tv you would have to consult you manual.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don’t believe so. The TV would have to have Bluetooth capability. I have a brand new Sony high end led tv and mine does not have Bluetooth. But they are the most discreet longest lasting, lightest earphones I have ever bought. As far as quality they are very very high. I forget I have them on me all the time. I carry them everywhere I go. Hope this helps.
