You shouldn’t. It comes with a couple different cable options so you shouldn’t need USB.

However, I found the easier setup is to use the 3.5 cable connection if your TV has that option. For me, that worked the best with my Sharp Aquos TV because it doesn't require use of the "autosync" functionality that's built into the Aquos brand.
